How to schedule and track meditation¶
What this is for¶
The meditation schedule sets the practice length, days of the week and an optional time. A separate action creates tasks in the planner, and the yearly summary uses completed tasks.
How to get there¶
Choose Leisure → Meditation (/meditation).
You find the yearly summary in Insights → Statistics (/statistics).
Step by step¶
- Set Session length and the optional Time (optional).
- In Days of week, tick days Mon–Sun or use Every day.
- Choose Save schedule to remember the settings.
- Choose Add to week. Use This week, Next week or Any day in the first week and set Weeks.
- Check the chosen days and the preview, then confirm with the Add tasks button. The app reports the number of tasks added, skipped and failed.
- Mark completion in the day plan. In Statistics, check Meditation This Year.
Fields and options¶
| Option | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Session length | A positive number of practice minutes. |
| Time (optional) | A time stored separately in user settings. |
| Every day, Clear | Select or clear all days. |
| Save schedule | Saves one practice; with existing records, the view edits the first one. |
| Weeks | From 1 to 12 weeks, starting from the chosen week. |
| Add to week | Creates uncompleted tasks for the chosen days with the set duration. |
Common mistakes / pitfalls¶
- Save schedule alone does not create tasks. Add to week needs a positive length and at least one chosen day.
- Duplicate skipping compares the task name and day in the fetched week. If reading tasks fails, duplicate protection may not work.
- Meditation This Year counts tasks with the description exactly
Meditation, marked as completed or with a status treated as finished. The year comes from the task start date; a task without one is not in the result. Hours are the sum of those tasks' minutes divided by 60. - The schedule and adding tasks alone do not yet increase the yearly completion total.
