How to plan a cleaning week¶
What this is for¶
The Cleaning module stores household chores grouped by location (room, kitchen…) with an estimated time and days of the week. One operation synchronizes the list with the tasks in a chosen week of the planner.
How to get there¶
Pick Personal → Cleaning (/cleaning). Which entries are visible depends on
Settings → Modules, Dashboard & Today.
Step by step¶
- Click New Chore, enter What to clean and pick or type Location.
- Set Estimated time (optional) and Days of week — you can use the shortcut Every day or Clear.
- Click Create. The cards group into sections by location; the Weekly workload bar shows minutes and the number of chores for each day.
- Keep things tidy: drag cards to change the order in a section or move a chore to another location. Section headers collapse with the arrow.
- Check the chores you want (the tick on a card or on a section header), or click Add to week with nothing selected to open the window for all of them.
- In the Add cleaning to week window pick a week (This week, Next week or a date), optionally Weeks (1–12) and days for each chore. The preview states how many tasks will be moved, created and removed.
- Confirm with the Synchronize week or Synchronize weeks button.
Fields and options¶
| Element | Behavior |
|---|---|
| What to clean | Chore name; required field. |
| Location | Any location name; suggestions from settings and values in use. |
| Days of week | Days when the chore happens; highlighted on the card by the M T W T F S S strip. |
| Estimated time (optional) | The task duration that goes into the planner. |
| Search | Filters by name and location; Clear in the field restores the full list. |
| Weeks | From 1 to 12 consecutive weeks covered by the synchronization. |
| Delete | Removes the chore after confirmation in the edit window. |
Common mistakes / pitfalls¶
- Synchronization never touches completed tasks. It removes only open tasks from unchecked days, and moves open tasks from checked days instead of creating duplicates.
- A chore with no checked days has nowhere to go — the label on the day strip on the card tells you this.
- Dragging cards is disabled while searching, and selections on cards hidden by filtering or a collapsed section are removed.
- The task name in the planner takes its emoji and name from Settings → Organization → Task names; changing it there affects only newly added tasks.
