Record occurrences and check patterns

What this is for

The Tracker counts occurrences of chosen items and stores their dates and notes. In Tracker Insights you compare frequency, active days and streaks in a chosen period.

How to get there

Choose Personal → Tracker (/tracker), and for analysis Insights → Tracker Insights (/tracker-insights). Both items depend on the Settings → Panels settings.

Step by step

1. In Tracker choose Categories, enter a New category, set a Color and click Add. Close the window with Done.
2. Click New item, enter a Name, choose a Category or No category and click Create.
3. Set the Occurrence date or choose Today. Click an item to record one occurrence. The next click adds another record.
4. Undo an accidental last addition with Undo. In History choose From, To and Item to find an earlier record.
5. Open an occurrence for editing, correct Date, Time, Note (optional) and click Save. Delete removes the selected occurrence after confirmation.
6. In Tracker Insights choose 30D, 90D or 1Y, then Category and Item. Check the counters and charts for that range.

Fields and options

Option	Action
Name, Category	Item name up to 120 characters and an optional category.
Archived, Show archived	Archiving in item editing and showing archived items.
Pin to top, Unpin	Adding to the Pinned group and removing the pin.
Note (optional)	Occurrence note up to 2000 characters.
Occurrences, Active days	Number of records and days with at least one record.
Current streak, Longest streak, Avg / week	Current and longest streak of consecutive active days, and the weekly average.
Occurrence trend, Top items, Consistency heatmap	Distribution of occurrences over time, most frequent items, and record intensity by day.
Streak Risk, Habit Output Correlation	An estimate of the risk of breaking a streak, and a comparison of output on days with and without a completion.

Common mistakes / pitfalls

• A repeated item name in the same category triggers a conflict message.
• An archived item must be restored before you add an occurrence.
• Clicking for another day keeps the current time on the chosen date; you correct the time in the occurrence's edit view.
• The start of the history cannot be later than its end. History fetches up to 2000 records.
• The analysis warns at the 2000-row limit: narrow the range or choose an item. Filters and missing records also affect the streak estimate.
• The current streak may end yesterday if no occurrence was added today. Streak Risk is not a probability; Habit Output Correlation compares data from observed days.
